In January we will be looking at Jesus’ story of the prodigal son.  It is a tale that has also been called the Parable of the Waiting Father or The Parable of the Lost Sons.  But whatever you call it, it was an outrageous story in Jesus’ day.  It described interactions that violated all the rules surrounding social norms of a first century Palestinian family.  Yet in telling this outrageous tale, Jesus keeps directing our attention back to the unfathomable and unshakeable love of the Father and so invites us to rest in that love that keeps being shed upon us without respect to what we deserve.

Scripture for the entire series is Luke 15:11-32.
