The writer of the Letter to the Hebrews defines faith as “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  As we unpack that definition and review with him a short Biblical history of the faithful, what we see is that faith is not some kind of commodity that we can have more or less of. Nor is faith merely a list of theological tenets or ethical practices.  Rather, faith is a matter of living out a covenant relationship.  Faith is the practice of faithfulness. In these five weeks we will explore some of the implications of Jesus call to follow him and how that invitation has been at the core of God’s call to us since the foundation of the world.  To walk by faith is to live in faithful relationship with God.
