Easter/Pentecost Sermon Series

Wendell Berry concludes his poem “Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front” with this admonition: “Practice resurrection.”  It is a fitting post-Easter invitation for us as the liturgical year once again encourages us to work with the “so what?” of the resurrection of Jesus.  The Christian life is lived out “between the times” and we never stop working with the question of how we are going to live into the truth of the resurrection right now.  How do we live in that liminal space of confidence in a living Lord and the unanswered questions of life in this present age?  From the Second Sunday of Easter to the Day of Pentecost we’ll be considering passages of Scripture that tell of some of the ways the early church navigated the journey through this liminal space.
