Prelude
Welcome and Announcements
Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has
anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
Responsive Call to Worship
Based on Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 6:10
God invites us into his healing presence with these words:
"I am the Lord, who heals you."
Diseased, depressed, dysfunctional, defeated,
we come hungering for health that only God can provide.
God invites us to come with open eyes, hearing ears,
and tender hearts turned toward him, the Great Physician.
We bow before him in faith and expectancy!
*Opening Songs:
Amazing Grace! How Sweet the Sound (#502)
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed!
The Lord has promised good to me,
his word my hope secures;
he will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.
When we've been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun,
we've no less days to sing God's praise
than when we'd first begun.
Breathe on Me, Breath of God (#295)
Breathe on me breath of God
Fill me with life anew
That I may love what Thou dost love
And do what Thou wouldst do
Breathe on me breath of God
Until my heart is pure
Until my will is one with Thine
To do and to endure
Breathe on me breath of God
Till I am wholly Thine
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine
Breathe on me breath of God
So shall I never die
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity
Responsive Prayer of Preparation
O God of shalom, we have built up walls to protect ourselves from our
enemies, but those walls prevent us from receiving and sharing your love.
Break down those walls.
Open our eyes to see your reconciling love
through our own reconciliation with others.
Bless them and us. May we grow in love for each other
and for you through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Create In Me a Clean Heart
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation,
And renew a right spirit within me.

*Closing Song:
Take My Life and Let It Be Consecrated (#568)
Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee
Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee
Take my voice and let me sing always only for my King
Always only for my King
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I withhold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my love, my God, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store
Take myself and I will be, ever only all for Thee
Ever only all for Thee
